Closeout merchandise refers to new, first-quality items that have been discontinued by the manufacturer. All remaining stock is drastically reduced for liquidation.
Factory seconds are new items made exactly the same way as first-quality merchandise, however they have some minor cosmetics flaws. Some possible imperfections range from stretch marks to scuffs, cuts or nicks that occasionally occur during the manufacturing process. Sanita Clogs are made by hand and slight size variations that may occur from shoe to shoe are a characteristic of the product and not considered a defective fit issue. Slight, naturally occurring color variations in leather are not considered a defect. Some leathers, including oiled and waxed leather, may have noticeable scuffs when you receive them, even in first quality goods. This is characteristic of these types of leathers, and simply rubbing the shoes down with an oil sponge will keep them looking their best for years.
